A sojourner is someone passing through. Present in a place, but not from it. That is the posture of this journal.
These are essays and observations written while traveling through the world for a short time — attempts to look carefully at what is here and to say what it seems to mean. The search is for what is true, what is good, and what is beautiful, and for the old conviction that those three turn out to be one thing.
I write as a Christian, and the essays draw on anyone who sees clearly: philosophers, poets, scientists, theologians, whoever happens to be standing in the right light.
